Membership & Subscriptions

We maintain a database which contains members' names and addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, date of births and health details.  This information is not given to any outside agencies and only used for membership lists, training lists and for creating a database to hold the swimmers' times and competitions entered.

Please keep us informed of any longer-term absences (periods of greater than 4 weeks) so we can maintain your membership and place in the particular group.  Also, please inform us of any change of address, phone numbers and email address.

Following the 2014 Annual General Meeting, the membership and subscription charges are as follows:

1.  Annual Subscription Fee
An annual subscription fee for all members falling into ASA Categories 1 and 2.  No fee is payable by ASA Category 3 members who are non-swimming volunteers and help on a regular basis.  Payment is due on 1st January of each year and can be made by BACS, cheque or cash to the Club Membership Secretary.  Failure to pay the annual subscription fee by 31st January may be liable to exclusion from club session until it is paid.

2.  Monthly Membership Fee
The amount payable will depend upon which group you are in.  Payment can be made via continuous monthly standing order or single annual payment.  Please note that the monthly membership fee is paid in arrears (e.g. payment on 28th December covers swimming for the month of month).

Any cheques for membership and subscription fees should be made payable to Solihull Swimming Club.

The annual subscription fee and monthly membership fee together covers all teaching/coaching, water time, affiliation, insurance and ASA registration.

Membership  and subscription fees are reviewed every year and are agreed at the Annual General Meeting each November. Hiring of swimming pools is very expensive and seems to get more costly every year. The Club has to pay in full for water time irrespective of the number of swimmers in the pool, but we endeavour to provide the best quality of swimming space for each swimmer.

With the exception of the Head Coach, everyone else in the Club is a volunteer who gives their time, energy and expertise freely. In addition to swimming pool hire, the Club also has to pay a host of other expenses, including travel coach hire, postage, trophies, printing/copying and training courses. We are constantly seeking potential local company sponsorship to help support the Club.
