SWIMMING
Moving Up Squads

There are a variety of factors that influence decisions on moving swimmers up to the next squad, including:
-
Attendance at sessions & commitment to training
-
Attendance at open meets
-
Behaviour, attitude, application plus sportsmanship & supporting your peers
-
Ability to self-coach i.e. get on with pre-pool undirected, consider feedback given by coaches in previous sessions and continue to apply it when not reminded
Achievement of county and/or regional qualifying times may also influence (applies to Racing and Performance squads).

The decision will always be made in consultation between the swimmer's current lead coach and the lead coach for the next squad. Other coaches may be consulted for guidance. The final decision will be ratified by a L2 coach.

Moves can happen at any time of the year, they are not subject to the fixed 'assessment windows' that are applied to our teaching groups, and moves may be subject to a trial period to gauge how well the swimmer takes to the new squad demands and regime.

Most importantly, the coaches need to be comfortable that the swimmer is ready and can commit to the extra hours whilst continuing to show attitude and application (as mentioned above).
